Oopbuy itself: the company, the vocabulary, and the orders it handles badly
A Hong Kong company on a shared agent platform, a warehouse in Fujian, a help centre with 210 articles that disagree in places, and a set of real strengths that do not need inflating.
Who you deal with
The company behind the service, and the platform behind the company
Oopbuy is a shopping agent: it buys from Chinese marketplaces on your instruction, receives the goods at its warehouse, holds them, and ships them on. Alongside that it runs a Mall of curated goods with flash sales, which is a different proposition from the agent service. It does not sell the marketplace goods and says so; its counterfeit rule is destruction without refund, and it publishes a report address for it.
The company is Openbuy Technology HK Limited, number 77213008, at a Causeway Bay address on the current contact page; an older unlinked contact page gives Tuen Mun, the review site gives Kowloon, and the returns address is Xiamen, where three help articles put the warehouse. Our own agent records, compiled June 2026, date the company to 2024; the operator itself states no founding year on any page we read.
The help centre runs on an agent-platform knowledge base shared with other agents: the registration agreement is a template, one article still carries another agent's name, and most help images are served from other agents' content servers. That is why its pages disagree, and why this site reads them against the estimator and the order screen.

The order-status vocabulary, including the one that appears twice
Every clock on this site is keyed to a status. The ninety days run from received; the 120 hours from Stocked in; the 72 hours to pay from Pending payment. The operator's own status page lists Received twice with two meanings, inspected and weighed, then stored and ready, which matters because the storage clock starts on the second.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending payment | the order exists; pay within 72 hours or it lapses |
| Under review | paid; some PayPal and card payments wait for a manual check, documents may be asked for, no reply in 72 hours cancels it |
| Processing | assigned to a buyer, about to be ordered from the seller |
| On order | ordered; waiting for the seller to ship |
| Shipped | on its way to the warehouse |
| Signed for | delivered to the warehouse, awaiting inspection |
| Received | listed twice on the operator's own page: once meaning inspected and weighed, once meaning stored and ready to ship |
| Supplementary payment | the seller's real price was higher; pay the difference or the order stops |
| Invalid | name or price does not match the link, no pictures, virtual or prohibited goods |
| Charged | cancelled or returned; the product money goes back to your wallet balance, not your card |

Frequently asked questions, answered from the pages
Is inspection automatic?
Yes, within its own limits. Every parcel is opened for a prohibited-goods check, and quantity, colour, size and model are verified against the order before storage. What is not automatic is anything past appearance: colour difference, size error and usage effect are excluded by name, nothing sealed is opened, nothing electronic is switched on.
How many photos do I get?
Three, generally: front, back, and side or logo. More cost one yuan each and must be asked for by product number.
Can the warehouse tell me if something is genuine?
No. Appearance only, and the counterfeit rule is destruction. The disclaimer page says in so many words that the warehouse cannot identify genuine, fake or imitation goods.
How long can goods wait?
Plan on ninety days from received, with one paid extension of thirty days as the ceiling; the pages disagree beyond that.
What does a return cost?
Both shipping legs plus five yuan when the reason is yours. About one operation a month is free of the five, though one page counts calendar months and another counts rolling thirty-day periods, so read the request page; the seller normally pays for a wrong item or a real fault.
Why is my dollar price higher than the yuan price suggests?
The conversion runs about twelve percent above the mid-rate, on goods and on shipping. Plan with that figure.
What if the parcel is late?
Nothing, unless you bought delay protection; the free promise is a coupon after thirty days overdue.
Can I change an order?
Before the seller ships, by negotiation. After, only by returning and re-ordering at your cost.
When to go elsewhere
The honest case for this agent, and the orders it is wrong for
What is true of every agent: they buy on instruction, hold goods, consolidate, and earn in some mix of fee, conversion, shipping and services. None can promise a seller is honest.
What is distinctive here, from the evidence rather than the brochure: the estimator prints a success rate and a day range on every line and a measured delivery distribution on the busiest one; twenty or more US lines; Klarna at checkout, which is rare; a twenty-yuan rehearsal that turns the shipping estimate into a fact; one-yuan detail photos; no fee on goods at the order screen. Our own audience figures for this agent, compiled June 2026 and not re-measured since, put Germany first among its markets, the United States second, and roughly forty percent of its visitors in Europe.
When to use someone else: if you need authenticity established, nobody can; if you are buying one light item, a seller who ships internationally may beat any agent's first-weight charge; if your basket is sealed cosmetics or boxed electronics, inspection will tell you little and the lines are few; and if you need advocacy in a dispute, an agent's standard service is communication, not representation.

Judging any agent, and what the public signal is worth
Four checks that need no forum: a legal identity you can look up and that matches across pages; a filing or company number that resolves; inspection and return rules written with numbers and exclusions rather than reassurance; a contact route that ends at a person. Here: a named company with a number, four published addresses, rules with numbers, two service addresses and a counterfeit address, no hotline in the policy corpus.
The review site shows 979 reviews, three quarters five-star and a sixth one-star, under a banner that the rating is unavailable because fake reviews were removed. After that banner individual reviews prove nothing in either direction; the banner itself is the datapoint. The community hub is Discord rather than Reddit, which is where first-hand detail on lines and customs lives.
